Label tutorial
Place a text label on the map
Places text on the map and animates it in. Labels are how a map video says what it is showing — a country name, a date, a figure, a one-line caption — so the viewer reads the point instead of guessing it from a camera move.
How to
- Add the action; the Label style panel opens with it and the text lands at the centre of the view.
- Type the wording in the Label text field, then drag the label on the map to place it.
- Click Browse presets at the top of the Label style panel to pick a design.
- Set Label size — it scales the whole label: marker, plate and spacing.
- Pick the entrance in the Animation tab: Fade, Rise, Pop, Typewriter or Instant.
Tips
- Add a Hide layers action once a label's subject has moved on, so each scene carries only what it needs.

- Hide layers — Hide layers takes the text back off the map once the next subject arrives.
