Icon/Model tutorial
Drop an icon or a 3D model on the map
Drops a marker on the map — either a flat icon from the library (pins, flags, weather, transport, hundreds more) or a 3D model that sits on the terrain. It is one action with two faces: pick a 2D icon or a 3D model and the settings change to match.
How to
- Add the action; the marker lands at the centre of the view, so put a Fly to before it to frame the spot.
- Drag the marker on the map, or set the Location field with Use map center or Pick on map.
- The icon library opens with the action: choose the 2D icons or 3D icons tab and search for the one you want.
- For a flat icon, click Edit icon style for Icon Size, Opacity and Drop shadow.
- For a 3D model, click Edit model style: Model Size and Heading are in that panel, and a model that ships with a clip also offers a play toggle there.
Tips
- A 3D model stands on the terrain, so set Tilt on the Fly to before it — from straight above there is no shape to see.
