Route tutorial
Draw an animated route between places
Animates a line from one place to another, leg by leg, with an icon riding its head if you want one. Reach for it for journeys, trade routes, migrations, supply lines and flight paths — anything where the point is how something got from A to B.
How to
- Add the action, then fill in From and To.
- Use + Add waypoint for each stop the line should bend through.
- Set Route mode for the whole route: Air/Direct, Driving, Maritime or Rail.
- Click Edit route style; the Stroke tab holds Color, Width, Style (solid, dashed, dotted or fade), Opacity and Curve.
- In the Line head tab, set Head to Arrow or Icon to put something at the tip of the line.
Tips
- One journey per action. Separate actions carry their own duration and their own Route style.

- Fly along — Fly along moves the CAMERA along a path without drawing anything; Route draws the line itself.
- Arc — Arc throws a single curved arc between two points, with no waypoints to fill in.
- Draw — Draw places freehand shapes and arrows by hand, with no start and end place to look up.
