Real Estate Location Video: Show Where a Home Is on a Map
Make a short map video for a property listing: fly from the city to the home, mark it, draw lines to the station, schools and shops, and export for the listing or Reels.

A real estate location video shows buyers where a home sits: the city, the street, and what is close by. You can make one with the map animation maker in your browser, then drop the MP4 into your listing video.
TL;DR
Short version: Buyers ask three questions before they visit: where is it, what is near, and how long does the trip to work take. A short map video answers all three in 20 to 40 seconds. In Animaps you fly the camera from the city down to the home, mark it with a pin, draw lines to the station, the school and the shops, and show a walking circle around the house. On the Pro plan you can also raise the city in 3D buildings. Export in 16:9 for the listing page and YouTube, or 9:16 for Reels and TikTok.

Why Listings Need a Location Video
Photos show the inside of a home. They do not show the area. A buyer from another city does not know if "close to the centre" means 5 minutes or 25. A map video shows it in one look: here is the house, here is the station, here is the line between them.
It also helps the agent. The same clip works on the listing page, on social media and in an email. You make it once and reuse it for every channel.
What to Show, Scene by Scene
A good location video has four short scenes.
- The city (3 to 4 seconds). Open wide, on the city or the region. The viewer learns where the home is in the world.
- The arrival (4 to 5 seconds). The camera flies down to the street. A pin and a label mark the home.
- What is near (10 to 20 seconds). Lines go out from the home to the places that matter: the train station, a school, a park, the beach, the shops. Each one gets a short label.
- The hold (3 seconds). The camera stops on the home with everything on screen, so the viewer can read it.
How to Build It in Animaps
- Pick the map style. Satellite shows real roofs, trees and water, which suits homes. A light or dark style looks cleaner when there are many labels.
- Open on the city. Add a Fly to with the city name, for example "Lisbon". Leave Zoom on Auto.
- Fly to the home. Add a second Fly to. Type the area, or paste the exact coordinates of the house. You can copy them from any map app. Set a tilt, so the arrival does not look flat.
- Mark the home. Add a Label with the street or the listing name. In its Marker tab, pick a pin. You can also add an Icon, such as a house or a star, from the icon library.
- Draw the lines to nearby places. For two places the search knows, such as the town centre and a train station, use a Route in Car mode. The line follows real roads. Use Walk or Bike mode for the walk to the school or the bike ride to work. For a spot the search does not know, use Draw: pick Line, click Draw on map, and click the map to place the points.
- Show the walking distance. Add a Draw step with a Circle around the home. Set its arrival to Pulse, so it breathes once or twice. Add a Label such as "10 min walk".
- Add 3D buildings (Pro). In a city, turn on 3D buildings and add an Orbit around the home. The buildings show only at city zoom, so keep the camera close and tilted.
- Hold the view. Add a Pause of 2 to 3 seconds at the end.
- Export. 16:9 for the listing page and YouTube. 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
Prompts You Can Copy
You can also type the whole video as one sentence. The AI builds the steps, and you edit any of them.
Show Austin, Texas, then fly close to the South Congress area on a satellite map, add a house icon, draw a circle around it labelled "10 min walk", and pause for 3 seconds.
Fly to Brighton, England, mark the seafront with a pin, draw a line to Brighton station, label it "8 min by car", then orbit slowly around the pin.
Ideas for Agents and Developers
- New build projects: show the site, then lines to the motorway, the airport and the nearest town.
- Holiday rentals: show the beach, the old town and the airport, with the travel time on each label.
- Office space: show the train lines and the main business district.
- A whole neighbourhood guide: one video per area, all in the same map style, so your channel looks consistent.
Tips for an Honest, Clear Video
- Write real times, not guesses. Check the trip time in a route planner before you write "5 min" on a label.
- Use few labels. Three or four nearby places are enough. Ten labels on a small phone screen cannot be read.
- Keep one style per agency. Use the same colours, fonts and map style on every listing.
- Mind the frame. In 9:16, the frame is narrow. Fly closer and put the labels above and below the home, not to the sides.
